Just a Little Face Lift

We're in preparation for my parents' visit this week, and I couldn't be happier! They're driving all the way from New York to spend Thanksgiving with us!

But before they arrive, there were a few projects we needed to get done in order to make their stay more cozy. The major one was painting the guest bath.

When we first moved in, we hung a simple shower curtain, threw down some rugs and called it done (for a while).

You can't really tell by that picture, but the paint color was a very blah shade somewhere in the mauve-taupe-peach family. Lovely, right? ;) It also didn't help that the bathroom is windowless so the mauve-taupe-peach was pretty dark looking in that small space.

Fast forward to Month 2 and we hung some Goodwill artwork, and started taping paint swatches to the wall. We also got a great big white mirror from Goodwill and hung that above the vanity. (you can see that below in the 'after' photos)

We were going to go with a bright icy blue, but we could never settle on one we liked. That's when we finally decided to go yellow. We chose Cornmeal by Olympic and we really like how much it brightens up this little space!

To incorporate the blue in the shower curtain, I swiped up some light blue rugs and towels at HomeGoods and it really added some extra cheeriness.

I'm still debating on whether to hang something above the towel rod here...

But other than that, we're calling this room officially DONE! :)
