To say 2013 has been a busy year for us would be a HUGE understatement. Between selling our house, moving south, finding and buying a new home, finding startling surprises when moving into said home, Nathan starting work, and trying to keep William on some semblance of a normal routine during all that madness has been...well, tiring. And busy. And chaotic at best.
So that's why when we started tossing around ideas for what we'd do about vacation this summer, we ultimately settled on the beach. Sand. Water. Sun. Laying by the pool. Yep - sounds like a great way to decompress to me!
And instead of just keeping the beach trip to ourselves, we also invited Nathan's parents along. His mom loves loves loves the beach, and they also happen to love a certain little someone in our family too (I'm sure you can't guess who!). So imagine our surprise when they not only accepted our invitation to go, but also volunteered to split babysitting duty so everyone could get their fair share of beach time.
We hit the road last week and spent five glorious days in the hot sweltering Florida weather. We chose Perdido Key, FL as our destination and my-oh-my did we relax. It also happened to be Nathan's birthday week, so we did a little celebrating while we were at it.
I'm so happy we were able to show William the beach for the very first time! In true boy fashion, he was ready to jump head first into the waves and the pool and eat every bit of sand he could get his hands on. Here are some photos from our trip!
Mmmm...this looks like crushed Graham Crackers! I think I'll have a bite.
Mama - we don't have those kinds of birds in the country!
