Week/end Recap + July 18 Menu Plan

We've had a busy week back from vacation, but we're finally getting back into the swing of things! We took off work last Tuesday and Wednesday to recover from vacation and to also celebrate my man's 29th birthday . . .

My parents were sweet enough to grill out pork chops for Nathan and they invited us over to celebrate.

We also continued our Atwood tradition of cooking the birthday person's favorite breakfast and serving it to them in bed. Nathan, as always, requested Chocolate & Toast. :)

Nathan also requested we go on a bike ride for his birthday, so we packed up and hit a nearby trail. We meant to bike about 7 miles, but Yours Truly decided it would be "fun" to take a new trail, so we ended up biking for 2.5 hours! Needless to say, we won't be taking the yellow trail marker again.

We had so much fun celebrating Nathan's birthday, and I thank God that 29 years ago he brought my man into this world! Life just wouldn't be the same without him in it.

The later part of the week I was blessed to attend a marriage conference at our church hosted by Clifford and Joyce Penner. Unfortunately, Nathan wasn't able to attend because he had to work, but I've sure yacked his ears off about all the material that was covered! :)

I'm so thankful for eventful, fun and educational weekends!

This week we're happy to be back home with a fridge full of food! Here's what we'll be cooking up this week:

Monday -- Small-group BBQ. I'm taking a new recipe I found this weekend for Southwestern Pasta Salad

Tuesday -- Santa Fe Chicken Salad Wraps w/ Chips & Cheesy Ro-Tel Dip

Wednesday -- Crock Pot Pineapple Chicken w/ Steamed Broccoli

Thursday -- Leftover Night

Friday -- {Meat Free} Linguine in Lemon Cream Sauce w/ Squash

Saturday -- Steaks from the Grill, veggies

  3. What a wonderful time celebrating Nathan! Woot.

Sure glad you "enjoyed" your 2.5 hour bike ride... it's been too hot here to even think about biking (unless your biking in a pool, that is).

    :)

    Have a blessed week!
