More Kitchen Progress + June 6 Menu Plan

This weekend, my two favorite men made big strides in our kitchen. They tore out the bottom cabinets, countertops, and started putting drywall in the ceiling to patch things up from the soffit removal.

Here's how things are looking as of late . . .

Pretty bare bones!

Last week, we thought we had a buyer for the old cabinets and turns out the offer fell through at the last minute. So, our living room and dining room are looking a little like this lately . . .

We would love it if you could say a prayer for us that we could find a nice home for these cabinets. We know Habitat ReStore could always use some additional items, but we'd like to get a little chunk of change from them if we could!

Here's another photo of the kitchen . . .you can really see the removal of the soffit in this one. You might not be able to tell in the photos, but our ceiling looks much higher since we removed the 7 inches of dead space.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, over to the left of my fancy redneck rigged sink, I have a nice wooden folding table that's serving as our countertop for now. And yes, that's the microwave in the floor. Work with whatcha' got! ;)

Since our kitchen is a little out of pocket as of late, we're going to be utilizing our grill a lot this week!

Monday -- BLT Sandwiches w/ Fruit Smoothies

Wednesday -- Grilled Chicken Salads (with leftover BBQ chicken)

Thursday -- {meat free} Veggie Grill topped off with Fruit, Yogurt and Granola Parfaits for dessert!

Friday -- Leftovers

Saturday -- Burgers from the grill
