Marital and Menu Planning Monday

Thursday night, Nathan and I were making plans for what we would do over the weekend.  We already had Saturday planned out, but we weren’t sure what Friday night would entail.

We started tossing ideas around, and eventually decided we’d head to the local mall for some items he needed to purchase, and go out to dinner.

Picking a restaurant to go to is always a feat in our house.  Nathan’s idea of “going out to eat” consists of the nearby McDonalds.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m a girl who can appreciate a good small fry every now and then, but my idea for going out to eat is a bit different.  I like to go somewhere quiet where there’s soft lighting and great food; preferably a locally owned family business where they know how to cook up something from scratch.  That’s just me.

On this particular Thursday night, neither of us was willing to budge.  We had decided since we were visiting the mall, that we would just eat there.  Nathan wanted Taco Bell and I wanted Camille’s (a Rochester local that specializes in yummy wraps and salads).

So, we decided where to eat the mature, adult-like way.  Rock, Paper, Scissors.  Best out of three.

Nathan won.  And here we are enjoying his victory dinner--none other than the beautiful food court inside our mall.

If you can't compromise, just decide through Rock, Paper, Scissors. :)

This week, we’re trying a few new dishes and cooking up some favorites.  A lot of diversity, but in my opinion, that’s what makes menu planning fun. :)

Monday: Minestrone Soup (recipe to come)
Tuesday: Breakfast for Dinner (Nathan’s been asking for this).  Breakfast Burritos & Hash browns.
Wednesday: Leftover Minestrone
Thursday: Blackened Chicken Salad (recipe to come)
Friday: Burrito Night—steak (for him) and shrimp (for her)
Saturday: Valentine’s Banquet @ Church
